I'm interested both in narrative practice and in narratively informed psychotherapy integration. By "narratively informed psychotherapy integration", I mean remaining open to the elements of wisdom contained in the 400 or more other stories (which some people prefer to call theories) of psychotherapy contained in various discourses. In practice, this means beginning a conversation from the standpoint of narrative practice, but being open to incorporating elements of other stories as threads within the new tapestry that the client and I are weaving, if our conversation goes to places that seem to resonate in some way with elements of those stories. |

I have a long-standing interest in mental health through nursing and psychology. My interest in narrative approaches to working with people has grown over the last decade. I have a part-time psychology practice at the Karuna Centre while teaching at a local university in the areas of applied psychology and mental health. I would welcome new contacts and relationships with people who may share similar interests and challenges in their work. |

- Keeping in touch with or meeting new people from Australia and other parts of the world who are interested in narrative practices,
- Meeting with these people both in Sydney (my home city where I will be happy to host others) and elsewhere,
- Keeping in touch with or meeting new people who, in this work, are interested in similar themes to me (for instance, the links between personal and professional narratives, and the effect of the different relationships of power), and

For many years narrative ideas have informed my work with people whose lives have been affected by violence and abuse in a range of contexts. I am interested in exploring with others: the relationship between discourses that shape responses to violence between people and global violence discourse; management practice and power relations in organisations, the joy and politics of singing, experiences of 'shared counselling' and experience of organising and participating in 'narrative gatherings'. |

I am apsychologist and have often worked as a counsellor. I currently work at the Sydney Medically Supervised Injecting Centre.
I believe that employing a narrative practice in working with people is the most helpful practice I can use.
I have completed some training at the Dulwich Centre over the last few years to learn more about narrative practice.
I hope to make connections with other people interested in narrative ideas and also in similar fields of work. |

We provide counselling and support to families as well as running groups. As a team we enjoy exploring narrative ideas and drawing them into our work. A Narrative Hub gathers at our services approximately every six weeks. This is a great opportunity to meet with others exploring narrative ideas, be inspired and stretch our thinking. We would love to make further connections through this group. |

I'm fascinated by the ways we interpret meanings from events in life and how these meanings influence our senses of identity, and our ideas about personal and communal agency; the application of narrative practice, and its philosophical underpinnings, has provided me with ongoing opportunities for curiosity around these processes, which I work to utilise in my life and work. |

I have worked for many years with survivors of child abuse and neglect.
Narrative practices help me integrate my professional and spiritual ways in that they affirm my belief in the value of each person;
that they have their own truth but need support in finding and validating it. I am deeply Christian in a non-denominational way,
and rarely attend church, which consumed my energy in the past.
My passion is to help people develop rich stories of thriving to co-exist with their stories of pain and value their unique spiritual journey.
Two years ago I moved to Iluka NSW between Ballina and Grafton to establish Iluka Retreats. |

I am working part time in a very small service in rural New South Wales, working with people influenced by eating disorders service, and am VERY interested to hear from anyone else who is using narrative in this area of work - doing "assessments", running groups, working with family members. I am doing some research study and, if anyone else is doing research using narrative in this area, I would especially like to hear from them. I am also interested in working with people who have experienced trauma. |

In linking with others with a Narrative Practice interest I wish to share the joy of working/living in uplifting, respectful and honouring ways. I work with children, adolescents and their families, clinical teaching and supervision in my public sector roles; and in addition also work with couples and individuals in my private practice. Narrative practice has opened up fresh ways for my work with domestic violence, child sexual assault, and other childhood trauma. |

What sparked my interest in working from a Narrative framework was that it fit so comfortably with my personal beliefs and values about people and their capacity to step away from problems and towards new alternatives for themselves. I enjoy the dynamic challenging stance and find the hope and positivity contagious. I am interested in sharing these experiences with others and having the opportunity to cross-refer. I am a registered psychologist who specialises in working with couples and families. Work with children harnesses their own and parent's skills, resources and expertise to reject problem behaviour and move forward to preferred ways of responding.
Medicare and private health fund rebates available.
I would also like to discuss:
- ways of addressing assessment processes particularly in the health system
- issues arising when hospitalisation and medical interventions occur.
I currently run a monthly supervision group for colleagues. I am interested in expanding this area as I find it very reinforcing of my work and encourages further reflection on my practice! |

My hopes for narrative connections are to join with people and enhance our imaginations and creativity through verbal, metaphorical and artistic expressions. I enjoy working with people to explore new questions, new possibilities, to regard old problems from a different perspective, to enable supportive connections, and generate meanings and movement to new territories that are evolving constantly. |

For many years, narrative ideas have informed my work with people whose lives have been affected by violence and abuse, more recently with adolescents who have subjected other children to sexually abusive practices. As well, I have a longstanding and passionate interest in ideas and ways of working that invite respectful and inclusive work practices and that challenge abuses of hierarchy and privilege. I am keen to have conversations with others to explore the interface with ideas, practice and politics, and who might wish to connect up with others, especially in rural NSW. |

My main interest is counselling with young people to assist their fuller engagement with family, community, education and personal endeavour. With curiosity, the young people and I explore their stories together, which allow new narratives to emerge. These narratives provide platforms for change. I like to engage with a wider circle of people who are involved with the young people to strengthen new understandings and develop alternative stories. |

My interest in narrative therapy is longstanding, and stems from the energy, enthusiasm and respect these ideas and practices generate between people.
I am fascinated by ideas of modern power, their connection with experiences of personal failure, and the possibilities that lie in exploring this. I work in private practice with a wide range of people and with a rural, government funded counselling service. I have a commitment to inspiring other people to learn about and practice from a narrative perspective; this includes offering supervision, some teaching and bringing other narrative folk to Brisbane to share their ideas. |

I have become increasingly interested in narrative practice over the past few years. Narrative ways of working 'fit well' with me. I believe this is so because they are an extension of my personal ideologies. I am interested in making meaning out of my life experiences and love being witness to other people's stories and joining with them on healing journeys. I am excited about the prospect of connecting with other practitioners and am hoping to share practice experiences. |

I am particularly drawn to the respectful and uplifting spirit within the narrative approach. Working with a narrative approach in the areas of anxiety and depression, addictions, substance abuse, self esteem, self management and relationship difficulties, I endorse ideas that empower clients to reach for and attain their goals in a simple but powerful manner. I am especially interested in meeting with other practitioners who benefit from adopting and exploring narrative possibilities. |

Hopes: Continue developing narrative ideas and practices. Reducing professional isolation. Finding helpful ways to talk about difficult issues. Awareness of what is happening in the world of therapeutic ideas. Be startled by something unthought of.
Interest: Experience narrative practices as respectful ways to work, particularly with Indigenous people currently working with. The liveliness of narrative ideas and practices, and what this makes available for practitioner and client.
Definitional Ceremony and Outsider Witness work, where reflexive questioning fits and work on failure and trauma. |

I am keen to make contact with those in my area who use narrative ideas in their practice to build a sense of community.
I have been using narrative ideas in my private practice counselling for some years and have begun research at ACU around the concept of social construction of identity for those who self-identify as Christian. I hope to connect with others interested in this research. |

I have a long term connection with Dulwich Centre and narrative ideas dating back to the gathering that took place in response to Aboriginal deaths in custody here in South Australia in 1994. Since then we have held other community gatherings around different issues and in different states of Australia. A few years back, Jane Lester and I created the book, 'Telling our stories in ways that make us stronger' which describes the use of narrative ideas with Indigenous Australian families. I am interested in connecting with anyone who is trying to use narrative ideas with Indigenous Australians. |

I work both at Dulwich Centre as well as for a non-government agency, and I value how narrative ideas provide me with ways of working with people that are respectful and honouring and that expand the possibilities for peopleâs lives. I enjoy talking with others about the ideas that support narrative practices, skill development and the implications narrative ideas have for all areas of life. |

I have been engaged with narrative practice, teaching, co-visioning/supervision and conferencing for some 17 years. I love the passion and power of the work, and the way it invites me to more consciously position myself in relation to discourse, constructing less governed and sometimes sacred spaces in which meaningful and beautiful connections can be forged with people and local communities. It's exciting to story people's hopes, and dreams, their pain, their wisdoms, and the myriad triumphs of everyday experience. |

I have loved narrative ideas since I was first introduced to them in 1988, in family therapy training in adolescent psychiatry. Since then, narrative practice has informed my work with people in public mental health services. My clinical background is psychiatric nursing; I use narrative approaches in clinical supervision and in training, in private practice with nurses and other mental health colleagues. I welcome contact with local therapists / nurses and supervision or training referrals. |

I am particularly interested in using narrative ideas in the practice of Family Therapy.
Having just finished six years at the Bouverie Family Therapy centre in Victoria, where I worked as a clinician and co-ordinator and teacher of the Graduate Certificate in Narrative Therapy, I am now working privately as a therapist and supervisor. I also counsel homeless people. I would love to share and learn from others who work in the area of family therapy. |

I am a mental health social worker with a background in vocational rehabilitation. In 2005 I established my private practice working with individuals and couples. I am also a career counsellor and assist people to identify career directions, change jobs or find a better work//life balance. I try to incorporate narrative principles into both of these areas of my work and would like to link with people who share this way of working. I am also interested in narrative ways of assisting women clients to form fulfilling relationships with men while maintaining their own identity. |

I seek to use appreciative inquiry principles with narrative approaches in all my work. My PhD research was with youth (students, gays and refugees) creating meaningful community projects. I teach community psychology, community development and interpersonal skills at Victoria University. Recently I began counselling in private practice through a community counselling service in Essendon (Melbourne) and one day a week in a small town medical centre just north of Melbourne. I love sharing narrative and appreciative ideas with others, including workshops on Appreciating Narratives. I also love sharing ideas over good food with like-minded souls. |

Coming from a background that includes pastoral care and pastoral counselling, I'm interested in narrative therapy, particularly relating to the issues of spirituality, grief and loss, addiction, as well as men's issues and working with young people. A personal interest lies in how narrative therapy can be linked with narrative theology. My hopes include connecting with people in order to share stories, spark off ideas, and enjoy some good ole fun. |

I work with children, young people and families who have had experience of family violence, sexual abuse and trauma. I am in private practice as well as working with the Department for Child Protection. Post structural thinking, narrative ideas, and the critical role of language influence, guide and sustain relational and therapeutic practices. Working with children and young people keeps alive humour, connection with magic, imagination, and the land of possibilities. It gives me inspiration and renewable energy to engage in conversations, to share ideas and practice applications within the teaching/learning and supervision contexts. (Bi-lingual: Italian and English). |

My clinical work has been with adults and children suffering from trauma and sexual abuse. I now include work with people who have been abusive and wish to deal with the gap between their good intentions and their actions. Narrative practice with its advocacy for the non-expert, client-centred approach sits comfortably with my sense of social justice. I enjoy contact with other practitioners as a way of exploring these ideas further. |

I enjoy the endless possibilities of the narrative approach to counselling - particularly assisting people to externalize, and experiencing themselves as a separate from, "the problem". I have recently relocated to Perth WA so am keen to establish connections with others interested in narrative therapy. |

My narrative work is with children, young people and families. It has been developed within child and adolescent psychiatry and within my private counselling practice. It is informed by my background in the visual arts, literature and post modernities. I am working out ways to bring out people's inventions, creativities and artistry in their lives in helping relationships. I am interested in supporting helpers to support others creatively |

As I lecture at both Curtin University and the University of Notre Dame I have an interest in teaching narrative approaches. Through my private practice I continue to explore its application to supervision and to a range of concerns presented by individuals, couples and families. My hope is to join conversations that explore narrative teaching practices and the place of spiritualities in narrative counselling. |

I am working on my PhD, exploring the effects of using social constructionist ideas in statutory child protection work. I hope my research will empower people effected by abuse to tell their stories in ways that honour their own solutions to the problems of abuse and reduce the need to place children out-of-home. My hopes for joining narrative connections are to meet and learn with others sharing some of my interests. |

I use Narrative thinking and practices in all my therapeutic work. A particular interest has been working with men who use tactics of power and control with their female partners. I enjoy deconstructing the thinking that has these men hurting people they care about. I also enjoy working with couples and individuals. |
