Legal structures
Due to funding requirements, there are two separate organisations which carry out Dulwich Centre’s charity work in Australia and overseas: Dulwich Centre Foundation Inc. and Dulwich Centre Foundation International Inc.
These foundations have clear delineations of their work, budgets, and accounting, allowing them to be accountable to funders who are limited to funding projects only in Australia or overseas. However, despite being separate legal organisations, each Foundation employs the same staff, and engages consultants from similar networks. This ensures that the best-quality practices and knowledge developed in Australia can be shared with workers and communities overseas, while the experiences of working in overseas settings can inform projects undertaken back home.
Dulwich Centre Foundation is endorsed as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR). At this time, the international foundation’s DGR status was yet to be approved, but we expect it to be so soon.
